Iridium has pulled back firmware version HL17001 for Iridium Extreme from use. When HL17001 is loaded onto Extreme handsets with hardware build AB02 (at the end of the part number on the IMEI label), the phone ceases to work properly, failing to find the satellite network.
Any Iridium Extreme handsets that have been updated to HL17001 should be reverted to the previous version HL15002.
